FANTASTIC NEWS! We are thrilled to announce that the New Adelphi Theatre has selected five recently graduating individuals/groups from our Performance directorate to become the next cohort of Supported Artists.

The Performance Graduate Scholarship Programme, in collaboration with the Alumni Team, awards graduates from the University’s performance disciplines the financial support, resources, facilities and time to experiment and take risks within their creative practice. The programme is designed to provide recent Graduates with an opportunity to develop their skills and further their professional experience within a supportive framework.

The Performance Graduate Scholarships are funded through the generosity of our donors and supported by the Alumni Engagement & Development Team.
Let’s meet our 2025-26 Supported Artists and hear more about their plans and next steps in their creative practice…

Andrew is a 2025 Comedy Writing and Performance graduate. After being involved with amateur dramatics for many years, performing in comedy plays and regularly attending short courses and workshops, he decided to take the plunge and commit to a full-time degree course. At Salford, he developed a passion for writing and performing radio comedy which culminated in his recent performance project: a pilot episode of a radio situation comedy based – very loosely – around the legend of King Arthur.

Andrew told us: “I am delighted to be one of the recipients of this year’s Graduate Scholarship and excited for the opportunity to continue developing my radio sitcom Sordid and Stoned: A Legend Distilled. It’s wonderful to be able to work with the New Adelphi Theatre as an Associate Artist, to benefit from the excellent facilities and equipment and to receive professional guidance from mentors through the generous commitment of our donors.”

Robyn is a 2025 Comedy Writing and Performance Graduate with a passion for alternative and subversive comedy that creates a truly unique and unexpected audience experience. Their first sketch show explored how audience interaction and structure could be used to catch people off guard and build a playful, unpredictable energy in the room. Their second sketch show toyed with genre; what began as light absurdism slowly unravelled into something more dramatic and horror-tinged.

Robyn told us: “Receiving this grant is an absolute honour and a massive encouragement to keep taking creative risks and push my comedy to even further extremes. I’ll be collaborating with the absolutely amazing Mia Lewis to form a brand-new sketch comedy group. We want to make something that pushes boundaries, plays with form, and leaves our audience with no idea what they just witnessed (hopefully in a good way).”

Robyn Misha is a 2025 Media and Performance graduate.

Robyn told us: “I am very grateful to be receiving this scholarship, as it will give me the ability to further develop my craft. During my time at Salford, I have established my own film production company, where we specialize in films that raise awareness of various topics such as medical conditions and stories around those from marginalized groups. Skills I particularly want to develop are researching for the purpose of film and becoming certified in the DaVinci Resolve editing software. The scholarship will be a great start to my future career.”
