From Salford Crescent Train Station

Direct services run to and from Manchester Airport, Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria, as well as Blackpool, Bolton, Buxton, Blackburn, Southport, Preston and Lancaster!

When you exit the station at the main door, turn left and then left again to walk down the slope (University Road). You will be able to see New Adelphi (the large grey building) ahead of you to the right. When you reach the roundabout at the bottom of University Road, bear right to head towards New Adelphi, until you are standing in front of the covered area. Turn right and walk towards the main entrance, which you will find halfway along the building.

 

By bus

Buses that reach the University are the numbers: 8, 12, 26, 31, 32, X34, 36, 37, 38, 50, X61, 67, 100.

The number 50 runs every 10-15 minutes between East Didsbury and Media City via the New Adelphi Theatre.

Alight from the bus at the main campus stop on The Crescent – you will either be outside the Old Fire Station if on a bus heading towards Salford, and outside the Salford Museum and Art Gallery if on a bus heading towards Manchester. If outside the Old Fire Station, cross the road so you are on the same side as the museum. Turn left and walk past the Peel building. Bear right down the slope (University Road). You will be able to see New Adelphi (the large grey building) ahead of you to the right. When you reach the roundabout at the bottom of University Road, bear right to head towards New Adelphi, until you are standing in front of the covered area. Turn right and walk towards the main entrance, which you will find halfway along the building.

 

 

Parking

There are several car parks on campus. We recommend parking at Irwell Place Car Park (post code M5 4PE) which is located on the other side of the A6/Salford Crescent. Walking distance from Irwell Place Car Park to the New Adelphi Building is 7 minutes or 0.3 miles. Click here for an interactive map that highlights the Irwell Place car park.

Parking is chargeable 7 days a week between the hours of 9am – 6pm. After 6pm, all parking on campus is free. Please note: all university car parks use the PayByPhone App. Irwell Place has an optional Pay and Display machine. The location code for Irwell Place PayByPhone 59325.

Traffic Wardens operate at all times on campus, so please be mindful. The New Adelphi Theatre accepts no responsibility for any vehicles parked illegally outside the building.

There is a passenger drop off and pick up point just outside the building, on the roundabout. If you are travelling to us by taxi, this is also your drop off/pick up point.

Walking from Irwell Place Car Park (M5 4PE)

Exit the car park and walk along Irwell Place until you reach the main, four-lane road (A6/The Crescent). Cross the road using the pedestrian crossing with traffic island. Turn left and walk towards the main campus. Pass the large red ‘Ambition’ sign and continue walking past the Peel building. Bear right down the slope (University Road). You will be able to see New Adelphi (the large grey building) ahead of you to the right.
