MANIC

Winner of Best Solo Show at FUSE International 2022

Hi. My name is Raina. I don’t like when people see me naked and then don’t talk to me.

Raina thought she would be the type of person who had a lot of sex. But now she’s just the type of person who thinks a lot about sex. When arrives at her spoken word gig to see her exes in the audience, all the questions she’s had about her sex life begin to surface. A show about the murky parts of consent, expect impromptu burlesque, PowerPoint presentations, Michael Cera cameos, cringe, and desperation.

Sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking, MANIC combines spoken word, DIY puppetry, and TedTalk comedy to ask whether it is possible to say you were violated without implicating a partner.
