Emergence Premiere

2018 marks the inaugural premiere of Emergence, the postgraduate dance company of Joss Arnott Dance and the University of Salford.  With Joss Arnott at the helm as Artistic Director, Emergence builds on his classical contemporary style to create a compelling dance experience. Sharon Watson, Artistic Director of Phoenix Dance Theatre, joins Joss Arnott in creating the programme of work with two original pieces.  Fresh and exhilarating, the programme brings some of the finest emerging professional dances to the New Adelphi Theatre stage.

Emergence draws from the rich cultural energy born out of this new collaboration between Joss Arnott Dance and the University of Salford. The company is committed to talent development and retention in Northern England, strengthening the relationships between dance organisations in Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and the surrounding regions. Through the workshop and performance offer in its 2019 UK tour, Emergence will expand opportunities to engage young people to both get involved and stay involved in dance, while inspiring wider audiences with accessible but invigorating performances.
