LINE-UP

GUIDED PROGRESSION

A relationship develops between two people; two people that are different. Motivation, support and confidence are standing against challenge, lack of focus, and frustration. There is just one thing that connects these two people, the same goal: learning and progressing.

COLOURED HEART

What happens when you don’t fit in or you don’t match anyone else? What happens when you feel different to everyone else, or you all feel the same? Like solving a Rubik Cube, how can you make the colours align and get everyone to fit in? Like clothes on a rail you can select what you want, so what feelings are you going to pick? What are you going to wear today?

NIGHT SHIFT

This piece looks at the challenges of modern club culture, and how the club setting and alcohol affects personality and body language. It follows four girls through their night out, looking at how their behaviour changes under lights and behind closed doors. Based off the cast’s own experiences, this highlights what women encounter, and what pressures they’re put under, on a typical night out.

FEMININITY

Femininity explores the traditional ideologies of what it means to be feminine in western culture.  Through the demonstrations of toxic female relationships and strong female individuality we take explore the ideas of ‘being a lady’ and ‘being a woman’. Inspired from as early as the 19th century and ending in the present day, this piece dissects the social views of what was/is considered feminine, from delicate and fragile to strong and powerful, the struggle for female empowerment is still ongoing.

TESTOSTERONE 

Throughout this process we have been exploring what it means to be a man, researching the impact society and social media has had on the male image.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MAN?

BIG KID LITTLE KID CARDBOARD BOX

Inspired by the themes of imagination and time, this choreography is a playful exploration of our own childhood memories, and the building blocks of our colourful personalities. As a collaborative work between choreographer, dancer and musician, this allowed us to explore deeper into our own childhood attributes and aspiring dreams. The components of poetry allow the piece to progress, adding a hint of anecdotal humour, to encourage the audience to become a child again with us, and find humour in the simple pleasures of life.
