We’re delighted to share the news about University of Salford’s BA(Hons) Interior Design student competition in collaboration with the New Adelphi Theatre. The project was set over the summer for 2nd year Architectural Technology module to design a box office to support the 350-seater theatre and 100 seat studio theatre.
The box office will be located in the atrium of the New Adelphi Building. We asked students to look for imaginative ideas, using materials that are sympathetic with the existing material palette and aesthetic within the building.
The competition was judged by a panel of internal and external judges; the runner-up and winner were awarded prizes on 1st November after the students had presented their design proposals. Many thanks to Rosie Miller and Chris Large for funding the prizes. The winning student will have their design built and installed in the upcoming months.
